Project 1A- On site Sketching
In this project, I am required to do 4 sketches of the locations that i have picked in Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. Throughtout this project, I am able to understand the notion of space in architecture. Besides that, I have developed skills in visualizing of space through observation and perception of a given site. Next, I have successfully developed skills in sketching as a mode of communication which is important for my future career as an architect. Lastly, I have learned the correct ways of applying rendering to my drawing in order to make it more interesting.
Design Communication
Project 1B- Tonal Value
For this project, I have to do 4 tonal value sketches of an object that I have chosen which is a keyholder. The 4 tonal values are stippling, scribbling, cross-hatching and hatching. This project has helped me to understand the notion of architecture. Furthermore, I have developed skills in communicating the above by applying various tonal and depth values. Lastly, I have been able to develop various techniques of hatching through different medium.
Project 2A- Orthrographic Drawing
In this project, I have been instructed to conduct a research onto a building which is located at United States of America and its name is Eames house. All the informations such as the dimension, materials used, plan and etc are needed in order to assist me in the drawing. Throughout this project, I have been able to demonstrate drafting skills in modern and traditional methods of architectural drawing. After that, I am able to record and present clear and legible architectural information manually. Besides, I have identified and applied architectural conventions and symbols. Next, I have demonstrate in pencil and ink examples of line types, line weights, line quality and hand lettering.
Project 2B- Axonometric Drawing
In this project, I am instructed to do an axonometric drawing based on the building that I have did in project 2A, which is Eames House. From this project, I have learned the ability to express spatial ideas and architectural details in three dimension in the format of axonometric projection. Moreover, I have understood of what axonometric projections are and also ways to create and apply them to the design process and presentation. Last but not least, I have been able to obtain the ability to produce legible architectural drawings.
Project 2C- Perspective Drawing
For this project, I am required to do one point and two points perspective of the building that i have used in project 2A and 2B. Throughout this project, I have gained the ability to express spatial ideas and architectural detail in three dimension in the format of one point and two points perspective. Furthermore, I am able to understand what the perspectives are and ways to generate and apply them to the design and presentation. Moreover, I am able to obtain the ability to produce legible architectural drawings with strong creative intention. Lastly, I have understood that sometimes the proportion of the drawing is as important as the other aspects too.
